CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

At Destiny we believe in small group and individualized instruction. Curriculum is guided by New York State and national standards. Religious instruction takes place daily. There are also chapel services throughout the year.

Language Arts

Topics covered include: writing descriptive, persuasive, informative, elements of a story, the writing process, grammar, diagramming, research

Reading

Resources: Scott Foresman and Junior Great Books; typical class lessons span three grade levels of diversified academics; some classes have four levels of diversified academics

Mathematics

Resources: Hands-On Investigations, Math Their Way and Scott Foresman

Science

Resources: Scott Foresman and hands-on experiments

Spanish

The goal is to develop a love for languages and experiment with languages from various countries

Computers

Topics Covered: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet research, typing (begins in 1st grade)

Social Studies
